Bluegrass Station

Stream Restoration

EcoGro was awarded a contract to restore and enhance 6,000 feet of an unnamed tributary to Avon Branch of the North Elkhorn Creek in northeast Fayette County. The project required excavation to reshape or relocate the channel, construct bankfull benches and lower the floodplain. In-stream structures such as rock cross vanes, riffles, logs, rootwads and rock toes were built within the channel to provide grade control, bank stability and aquatic habitat. The project also required installation, maintenance and regular inspection of erosion and sediment controls.
